No, that would be the $3T welfare state, which is quadruple DoD's budget and that includes DoD civilians.

Those communes back then attract people who like to smoke pot and hate corporate bureaucracy, they usually dined on pizzas found in dumpster behind a pizza joint or looking for throwaway at the back of supermarkets.
They are no different from us,they like to have a sit down meal at a nice restaurant .what they grow on their commune cannot support them

Feel free to donate your social security checks back to the government when you retire. Otherwise you’re a hypocrite.

I am not a freeloader like many here. I have paid far more into the SS than I would ever take back.

It’s my money.

I've known people who wanted to start construction companies and have their buddies come and work for them.

couldn't do it. Know why?

they needed health insurance and he couldn't afford to provide it. Which is why health care (affordable) is seen as a basic fundamental human right that should have nothing to do with your job.
Billionaires getting their start on or because of welfare..............that makes a lot of sense.

And unlike in the military, far too many people in the welfare state are deadbeats, drug addicts, morons, criminals and con artists.

Many employers offer insurance at no cost to the employee. Most multinationals are in this bucket.

REally?

I have never met anybody whose insurance is 100% provided by their employer. Anybody here ever know anybody that had that benefit.

I know one Swede, his name is Linus Torvalds. He studied for free in Europe.
Then, he immigrated to Silicon Valley and has earned $200 million or more.
