The big, big problem to Republicans in Oklahoma is that Democrats, Independents, Libertarians and RINOs make up a significant part of the voting population, especially in urban areas.
lmao.
it's practically the reddest state in the country.
It would have been, but if the leak bears out to be true, the opposite or near opposite may happen.
There is a very loud minority (possibly demonic) that care enough for abortion as a single topic. Let the effect of abortion turn back to the states will give it 6 months to simmer and cool down before the midterms. More pressing will be guaranteed to come up between now and then.

Maybe.
Really that's not what I find disturbing at all in the leak though. The final opinion was going to come out eventually as a final opinion (presuming it's not some elaborate hoax which I don't think is that likely). A draft opinion leaking from SCOTUS on any topic is hugely destructive to the integrity of the court though, doubly so on a particularly controversial decision. The drafts are working language and need to be working language that's openly expressed, debated, and refined before being released as final opinions. There's been hints and innuendos and rumor mills in the recent passed, e.g. ObamaCare but nothing like this. A bunch of yokels on both sides of the aisle are going to ramp up their pressure campaigns tenfold to attempt to influence a supposedly independent court's decision now.
It's all exciting for sure but the long-term implications for the ability of SCOUTS to its job are troubling.
