China and Russia are already trade partners and they are also conducting military drills together. Not a good development. They would like to get to a point where they are not dependent on the USA market for trade, food, etc. Trump's trade war started the trend. Biden increasing the tariffs instead of removing them further hastening their transition. So they are shopping around, and supplying Russia with some manufactured commodity level goods like bearings and tires, possibly even goods that can be used in their war machine.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that Russia doesn't have a manufacturing base. It's not very advanced or impressive, but it never was. And they were the first ones into space, and they produced a massive number of tanks in ww2 with the same population size as they have today. Their manufacturing base didn't disappear, but the west did send much of it's manufacturing base to China, where Russia can tap into it. That's the problem. Not Russia's manufacturing base.
Where do you got the idea I wrote that Russia doesn't have a manufacturing base, or that China and Russia do not already trade, or have joint military exercises?

Don't ask me why you made these statements.

The odds of that happening are a lot better than Russia developing a mighty industrial base.

The fact is, China has been Russia's #1 trade partner for awhile. In fact, trade between China and Russia increased 30% from last year. They need the resources for their manufacturing base, so they can trade and buy food for 1.4 billion people. They don't want to absorb Russia. They just want the resources. If anything, they would make a move on Taiwan or bolster their defenses and expand their claims in the South China Sea. Not mess around with more land they don't want or need to the north. Plus, Mongolia and Kazakhstan are in the way, so their opportunity to expand is rather limited.

General Gerasimov, the new commander in charge of Russia's war issued orders to the entire Russian army:
1) Phones & tablets banned.
2) Non-army vehicles banned.
3) Beards banned. Everyone must be clean-shaven

Seems he is trying to get things ship shape.

Can't help but wonder how this will work out.

Good grief, look at a map. China shares miles and miles of border with Russia that don't involve Mongolia or Kazakhstan.

Since you seem to have trouble finding accurate information, here's a link.

They wouldn't even need a big military operation such as attacking Taiwan. If Russia breaks up, as some are predicting will happen when this whole mess collapses, China might be able to annex areas that are struggling to figure out what to do next.

Russia is literally relying on Central Asia, Iran, Syria, and North Korea right now.

But yes, China would gladly step in to support Russia if anything were to truly get bad for them.

This is why it's funny when folks said "Russia will collapse." Even Iran and North Korea haven't collapsed, and they've been pariahs forever. Armchair generals don't understand how much some countries hate the west. Hell even Turkey, a NATO partner, plays both sides of the fence.

The majority of China's northern borders are with Kazakhstan and Mongolia. I never said they don't border Russia. It just represents a smaller portion of their total northern border. Basically limiting them to the east. In your hypothetical scenario, Japan, Mongolia, or North Korea could just as easily snatch land in that region. If a part of that broke away, than it would probably become a new country.

And China doesn't want it anyways. Not sure why you seem think China wants to absorb these remote places to the north. They only want the resources, and Russia gives it to them cheaper than they can produce it for themselves in many cases.

More than anything, China wants stability in it's own back yard, and Putin clamps down hard on dissidents, extremists, etc. As long as Russia isn't invading them, and business remains good, Xi doesn't care what Putler does. I would guess he is secretly pleased with the change of pace from when the west was calling all the shots unchallenged.

Why? The Russian economy is going to completely collapse any day now from the economic sanctions, and the Russians are going to run out of missiles, tanks, and everything else.

Of course they have been predicting that for 9 years, and none of it has happened, but why stop good BS propaganda?

The above is essentially correct.
