IIRC, when Ukraine left Russia, much of Russia's nuclear arsonal was in Ukraine. The disarmament contingent wanted them destroyed. They made a deal to protect Ukraine should an attack occur in exchange for them destroying the weapons.
I don't trust Russians including this guy. He could be a defector or he could be pretending to be a defector. Putin and his army of online bots have selling the nuclear attack BS all along. This guy came along and regurgitated the same Putin nuclear bluff. But he is a "defector", so we should listen to him. Yeah, right.
I saw another video in which he tore up his Russian passport and his army paper and flush them down the toilet for the camera. It's all for show.
This is going to require a major infrastructure upgrade.
Thinking of all the pipelines required to deliver natural gas to Europe. Two replace that volume of usage a new equivalent system, just as long (possibly longer) and through more inhospitable terrain would be required to feed into China. Putin would probably die a natural death before the system could be completed.

I would like to point out just 16 HIMARS provided by the US has stopped the entire Russian offense in this tracks. But please go on about how Russia is winning this war.
Haven't you read the Russians and allies posting about all the Quaker missiles they blew up.
Wrong, Russia is losing big time as they face huge disastrous economic conditions and shortages of various staple goods.
The only thing that Russia has lost is man power, 15,000 - 20,000 military deaths, a staggering amount of loss, but remember this is a country that lost 15 million+ during WW2, they're never going to give up on Ukraine.
Aside from that, the Ruble is the strongest it's been in 4-5 years. They have plenty of buyers of their energy priced in rubles, meanwhile Europe is still in the same position that they were before the war, dependent on outsiders for energy needs. Their economy is on the brink from high energy costs.
