California wants to ban natural gas heaters and furnaces and replace them with electric heat pumps.by 2030. Would be the first state to do so.

I don't understand how they can push all these "get off gas" bills when their own grid is under strains with what they have now.

The 2030 date is a WEF date that Biden promised for the US....we'd be 50% reduced carbon output by 2030...100% reduced output by 2050.

CA is just going along with the global agenda.

Biden campaigned on this. And the people put him in office. This is the Green New Deal.

https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-...-technologies/
Today, President Biden will announce a new target for the United States to achieve a 50-52 percent reduction from 2005 levels in economy-wide net greenhouse gas pollution in 2030....
..
As part of re-entering the Paris Agreement, he also launched a whole-of-government process, organized through his National Climate Task Force, to establish this new 2030 emissions target – known as the “nationally determined contribution” or “NDC,” a formal submission to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

CA electric grid strains occur during summer heat waves. Heat pumps are used on colder days during winter months.

This. Electric heat pumps not exactly a light bulb. And frequently work best supplementing existing heating systems. But to take the entire load. Not that California is Alaska but some people use heat when temperature drops below 60 outside.

I thought I saw no more gas clothes dryers, stoves or water heaters either. They want no more gas appliances. The grid will need extra electric year round 24/7.

Maybe these folks should be transparent about their policy goals. The chief cost of eco-communism will be that large numbers of people will have to suffer and die. You are the carbon they want to reduce.

They frequently default to this California Air Resources Board(CARB). Is this board elected or appointed? Either way it's front for the green agenda people.

So much for the natural gas industry in those states. I guess it's time to learn how to code.

Seems counter productive in an area with an overly stressed electrical grid. Natural gas or propane for cooking, heating water, clothes dryer, and central heat or auxiliary heat (radiant heaters or fireplaces) can reduce the load on the electrical grid. They’re banning gas cooking in new restaurants. Private companies switching everything to electric would increase the load on utilities. Will they also ban gas or oil fired boilers for hospitals that use them to generate steam for sterilization?
