Pentagon monitoring Chinese spy balloon over northern USA (comparison, airplanes, regular)

Probably just a weather balloon, or weather "object". No spying, probably, so Joey* figured it would be okay with China if he shot this one down. But so much for them not wanting to shoot something down over land and not squash people.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a false flag? Air force puts up in the sky so they can shoot it down and thereby make Joe look like less of a ********.

International flights go through the north regularly to asia. I've been on many flights that have gone directly over the north pole.

The first balloon was likely useful for gathering info on Chinese spying technology; this one was about sending a message, of sorts.
