Because they are ignorant ? If anything, they should be protesting Hamas, and putting pressure on them to release the hostages.

Too many people make excuses for these things! These reasons have been posted here a LOT. There are plenty of protesters who don't know enough about the history of all of this, and don't seem to want to know. Because protesting...well it's cool, right? And even kind of fun if your friends are doing it.

And a lot of other people are saying thus and so, and there are disturbing videos on the news, some is legitimate, some manipulative or both...so that's easier than studying the whole matter carefully.

Headline in Washington Post tomorrow.

Biden advances $1 billion in arms for Israel amid Rafah tensions

Looks like Biden is back to "ironclad" support for Israel after flip flopping on it last week. I wonder how this will play out on college campuses or in the minds of Americans this week. Is he trying to lose?

He should never have said anything about a 'pause' in shipments to begin with. Now look at him.

As far as college students, it isn't like they magically loved Biden after the 'pause'.
They take their lead from other older leaders who are gonna do what they do regardless. They probably have it all planned out in excel

IDF kills dozens of Hamas terrorists in largest Gaza battle in two months

I know it is more dangerous, but IDF's current 'ground' assault "should" yield less civilian casualties than dropping bombs. So between the two, this is the better option.

I find it interesting that most headlines ( non Israeli) Never talk about the actual Hamas fighting and skirmishes. Only if any civilians are harmed.

It is like they wanna pretend there is no enemy there hiding in residential buildings or emerging from tunnels that lead out of 'shelters'. No Hamas, just civilians.

Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu quote: "Until it is clear that Hamas does not control Gaza militarily, no party will be willing to take over the civilian administration of Gaza out of fear for its safety. Therefore, the talk about 'the day after' when Hamas remains intact will remain empty talk. Contrary to what is claimed, we have been engaged in various attempts to find a solution to this complex problem for months.”

Exclamation We want WAR

Palestinian Columnist In Qatari Daily: We Do Not Want A Ceasefire But Ongoing War; October 7 Put The Palestinian Cause Back On The World's Agenda~ Translation by MEMRI

MEMRI monitors Arabic News Media, both Print and TV and translates the reports.

In his May 12, 2024 column in the Qatari daily Al-Watan, titled "Palestine Is a State, Let's Continue the Resistance", Palestinian journalist Samir Al-Barghouti wrote that the October 7 attack on Israel increased global awareness of the Palestinian cause, as evident from the May 10, 2024 U.N. General Assembly resolution that upgraded Palestine's status in this body and recommended that the Security Council consider granting it full U.N. membership. Al-Barghouti called to continue the resistance "even if Palestine sacrifices millions of martyrs and wounded," and added: " We do not want a ceasefire, we want ongoing war," because "the enemy understands only a language of force."

Pretty much impossible to “ negotiate” with a Terrorist Orgaization that freely admits there is not going to be a ceasefire, they don’t want a ceasefire — they want and need Martyrs. Killing thrur own people is part of their Grand Plan.

Why are we even debating about this? This has nothing to do with us Americans. Let them settle it out on the battlefield.

Normally this would be the case.

But we, Americans, financially support the defense of Israel to a not so small degree.

Not saying good or bad. But that is the connection and 'one' reason you see people here protesting that funding.
