I feel sorry for him, i do not blame him from wanting to go fight israel's war in iraq, he had every right to flee and if i was him i would leave canada before september and go somewhere else, do not come back to this horrible country!
Darfur is nice this time of year. Maybe you should go check it out since life would be so much better elsewhere. It is probably safe to say most of us would pitch in to buy a ticket for you...one way, of course.

I think he was referring to the horrible things that this country does. Often. Go to Iraq and see the devastation. That country is destroyed. Hundreds of thousands of civillians deads. Millions displaced and in refugee camps in Jordan and Syria. Car bombs killing dozens every single day. The trauma these people have experienced is unimaginable. They deserved better than this. These are human beings for gods sake. This is what happens we you elect an IDIOT to the white house. neo-cons are scum.
Right on. Court martial him, fine him, throw him in the brig at hard labor, then deport him to wherever he wants to go with a one-way ticket. He signed a contract, he broke the contract, he deserves not a damned thing but the punishment that goes along with the contract.
You are one cruel person. Why so mad? Is it because the USA is sooooo great and military service is so sacred that to clearly see it for the folly that it is is incomprehensible to you?
I think the Native Americans should own the US for all the times it failed to live up to its signed treaties and contracts. We should be sweeping out their teepees and cleaning the toilets at their casinos. Following your logic, would you not agree?
I say expletive the stupid military and the US government. Give me a cause worth fighting for, THEN I'll consider giving it my pound of flesh. Of course, I'd find a better way that wouldn't cost any of us anything...instead of donning a uniform and serving amoral pigs who don't care about human life.

Uh oh. No no no. I did not vote for anyone in office right now. Can't blame me.
My brother was in Iraq and started an NGO shortly after the US occupation, so I know all too well what happens there. He lived in the Green Zone and worked in Sadr City. I have boxes full of pictures and letters that tell the story all too well. I do not agree with what goes on there or the stance we have taken in the world.
BUT, this soldier ENLISTED in the military. We are not drafting anyone. He knew there were risks involved and he took the risk of having to face combat when he signed on the dotted line.
My response was in direct response to the poster telling all of us what a terrible place America is. Well, if someone isn't happy...GO!

Then do it. Find your own cause and do something more than fighting in the 101st Chairborne Commandos.

I AM doing it, except I don't "fight" in the classic sense since it is unproductive. One can best accomplish by example and through empowerment.
