BlatherWatch: Liberal talk kicked ass in 2008

“Ed Schultz and Stephanie Miller both turned a profit (again) and both picked up more affiliates and were regularly seen on TV as pundits.” Donna also says that “the frequently-maligned Air America is still on the air, and its Rachel Maddow became a breakout TV star on MSNBC. It was certainly a good year for Rachel.

Mackinac
Liberals like to read and Conservatives like to listen. Is that possible?

Let's see. Liberal by definition means open minded. I don't need some talk show host to tell me how to think or my talking points.

Perhaps the fact that most right wingers are very religious and must be told how to think by their preachers, it is in their nature to crave being told their own views by talk radio.

Talk radio is incredibly boring and is basically a chant of "die liberals die". Those with a brain tune it out, those without, well, they vote Republican.

Nah! Liberal means that anything that feels good must be OK. Liberals are emotional, while conservatives are logical. For example, conservatives listen to music or talk shows while working, and may have a cup of coffee during break time. Liberals may read Cosmopolitan while sitting on the toilet during breaks, or may just smoke a joint.

While I appreciate your sarcasm, conservatives are typically very narrow minded and always looking to blame someone. Talk radio provides a very negative breeding ground for their nonsense.

Conservatives have proven time and time again that they are the emotional political group that spends so much of their time and energy on hot button issues such as gay marriage and abortion. Liberals use a logical stance without emotion, simply using the platform that people can make their own decisions. And that's what upsets conservatives so much, they want to legislate their way into everyone's personal lives.

Conservatives are bores, and will subject themselves to someone else's rants?

Are you going to suggest that there are no liberals who are "very religious"?

To me, NPR is like taking a sleeping pill, and liberal talk is too negative, mean spirited, and glass half empty.
You need only to read the political threads to see what I mean. I never see any conservatives saying mean things, only the libs.
