Wrong. The UN mandated the establishment of Israel through the partition of Palestine in 1947. The Palestinians and their Arab supporters were the invaders and the gun-pointers. Unfortunatley for them, the Jews refused to permit another Holocaust and drove them off in cowardly disarray...
The Palestinians could not have possibly been invaders to their own land. It was the Palestinians, Christian and Muslim, who lost hundreds or even thousands of their villages to the neo-nazi zionists.

In 1947, the United Nations approved the partition of Palestine into two states, one Jewish and one Arab.[9] On May 14, 1948 the state of Israel declared independence and this was followed by a war with the surrounding Arab states, which refused to accept the plan.
Suppose this was true, you make the Palestinians seem like bad people simply because they refused to give up most of their land and settle for some of it. The whole area was Palestine.
Having seen djacques posts in this thread, I'd say he/she has absolutely nothing against Jews. Stop using Jews and the Israeli Army, or even Jews and Zionists, as synonyms. Every time somebody says something anti-Israel, you Zionists accuse them of being anti-semetic. You zionists yourselfs are anti-semetics, murdering Arab civilians as if they weren't worth life for decades.
I am not a Zionist. I am a person with a sense of history, however. And that history stretches back to the years prior to where you and djaques begin your rudimentary analysis of middle eastern affairs.
you are correct. Israel was doing what it has to, to protect its from people that hate peace....look in India, the Philippines, Europe, etc.

At the behest of the neo-Nazi UN.

The whole area was partitioned by the UN in 1947; China calls the rest of Asia "Greater China"; yes, bad people teach their children to hate and murder others whom they describe as pigs and dogs....

People that hate peace? The Palestinians, of all political affiliations, have lowered down several peace offers they've given to get Israeli acceptance. Rather than liberate all of Palestine, Hamas now states that it wants Israel to withdraw to its pre-1967 boarders.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah and some of its Shi'ite Muslim supporters in Lebanon are now warning Israel that if it starts another war with the organization or refuses to withdraw from Lebanese territory, Israel will taste a defeat worse than the one it faced in 2006. Hezbollah, a Lebanese organization, is more hellbent on destroying Israel than the Palestinians seem, and that's because the Palestinians want peace. They want real peace that's fair towards them and they won't settle for less. If I were a Palestinian, I'd refuse any offer other than the destruction of Israel and the rebirth of Palestine. You Zionists are lucky Palestinians are willing to negotiate for less.
The evil and militant palestinians are always trying to start trouble with Israel. Now, once again after years of unjustified attacks against the Israeli people, they are taking it to them. May Israel finally wipe this wretched trash from the Earth

Bull, and I suspect you know it. The UN didn't "mandate" it, they proposed it. The partition was rejected by the Arabs, it was never acted on by the Security Council, and thus it never went into legal effect. Britain did not transfer power to Israel. They left on 5/14/48 and Israel unilaterally declared independence. Israel was not even admitted to the UN until 1949.

I only wish Arafat has been enough of a leader -- and a man -- to take the deal brokered by Clinton at Camp David. All of this tragic loss of life could have been averted.
Remember the proverb: "The Palestinians have never miseed an opportunity to miss an opportunity"...
Yeledaf's revision of history is not worth a plug nickel. The UN did not only not create Israel in 1947, it didn't even recognize it until 1949!
