Allow me to enlighten you with some information you might not get listening to the Rush Limbaugh show!
"Talk radio icon Rush Limbaugh surrendered to authorities Friday on a charge of committing fraud to obtain prescription drugs, concluding an investigation that for more than two years has hovered over the law-and-order conservative."
Here is a link with an article about, and picture showing, your Limbaugh GOLFING shortly before he turned himself in (4/2006) for his illegal drug use! Note the date 3/2006. Enough substantiation?
I had political fatigue after the long election cycle. I cut my TV news watching in half and my radio listening almost altogether but then the Dems started talking about Rush and they made me realize I missed him (and I'm not even an angry male ). After watching him speak at CPAC, I'm back in the fold.
And how great it is to have Glenn Beck back on TV, too.
Rush got hooked on pain killers because he had a serious back problem. He kicked the habit and is as clean as you are.
That's great. By the way, I wonder if he's ever mentioned the name of Richard Paey on his show? That's the fellow who also had back pain, who also became an oxycontin addict, and was sentenced to 25 years in a Florida prison for doing exactly what his corpulence El Rushbo did. (Paey served 3 1/2 years and was pardoned by Gov. Crist) Of course he hasn't, because he's a hypocritical piece of human refuse whose moonbat followers don't hold him to the standards they hold the rest of the human race.

BO, on the other hand, was smoking dope and snorting cocaine because he is a bonified party animal.
I didn't know bonify was a verb. How do I get bonified?

I don't know for sure, but I've always heard jail was where you would get bonified if you weren't super careful
So then you don't listen to Obama, either? He said he did cocaine. [End Quote]
So this makes him a drug addict? By that standard, a majority of Americans, either through some level of recreational use or through prescription use / abuse, are addicts also. So what. Personally, I don't believe Rush's challenge with pills or Obama's coke use are relevant to their abilities / beliefs. Here's what Rush and the like do. Throw out ideologies / beliefs that rile up the public, increase ratings and laugh all the way to the bank. The ultimate talking heads. We the general public apparently eat this stuff up.
I, of course, will change my opinion of his relevance if he runs for president where he might be able to do some real damage.

I think what you said applies to Rush, but not Obama. Afterall, he is Pres!
I tell you what...I am one of those new listeners. He makes a lot of sense. He is very polite (which is not easy to do) and does not resort to name-calling, swearing, and insults (to me a sign of someone who has little else to fight with when the facts are not on his/her side). He backs up his opinions with facts, which he has an independent consultant research to ensure he's not telling lies (the firm has found him to be 99 percent accurate). I am also amazed by how well he knows liberals -- he knows them better than they know themselves!
POLITE? FACTS? NO INSULTS? Sorry honey, but that must not have been Rush you were listening to. Check your dial.

Of course Obama is currently in perhaps the most influential position anyone in the free world could be in. I certainly don't think past cocaine use is an issue for him or anyone else. However, were Obama currently addicted to it, or other drugs, that would certainly be an issue. The potential for instability is too great in that position.
