On the contrary: the Palestinians need to demonstrate some responsibility for their actions before they can be entrusted with sovereignty. As it is, they represent a silly, corrupt, and diseased group of warring factions whose sole occupations are terror and treachery.

Maybe this topic deserves a separate thread, but here are a few myths about the Israeli Palestinian conflict that the Arab/Muslim/far left propaganda spreads and are totally incorrect:
1) Occupation - if only Israel withdraws from west bank (and Gaza) and stops building settlements a peace agreement can be easily reached.
2) An independent Palestinian state next to Israel would bring an end to the conflict.
3) Palestinians are a people with unique characteristics that sets them apart from their neighbors. They enjoyed independence until Israel occupied them. Jerusalem was their capital.
4) Arabs have no rights and aren't allowed to vote or run for office in Israel.
5) Palestinians do not support or encourage violence. Israel starts all violent confrontations.
6) An extension of the above: "suicide bombings are a natural response to occupation".
7) The US pays every cent in Israel's budget. US (and other imperialist countries) sent soldiers to fight for Israel. That's why Israel is successful.
8) Muslims aren't allowed to worship at their holy places like Jerusalem.

Sadly, these are just a few myths that many uninformed people around the globe believe in, after being exposed to this propaganda.

look your looking beyond the point...

1)Yes the occupation is the root of the problem, (violence wont end the day the occupation ends, but thats only because time heals)

2) the lack of a palestinians state, and the fact that most palestinians have no nationality is a great concern, and i dont see peace without some sort of citizenship for palestinians

3) Palestinians are unique? what group of people is unique? jews arent that unique too.
But we have to understand that for the last 60 years the palestinians had lived a very distinct history that other arabs can not relate too.

4) the arabs in Israel.
first Israel sets claim to all historic palestine, yet only a handfull of arabs have been granted israeli nationality. (all the arabs that are currently living in area of the west bank and gaza have no right in citizenship in the country that claims to be the rightfull owner of their lands)

Arabs are not allowed to marry non israeli arabs or refugees. (from gaza or the west bank)

5) palestinians do encourage violence, i agree most are not pacifists. (most is some sort of revenge attacks)

6) the difference between Suicide bombings and attacks by the IDF and israel, is that the suicide bomber dies.

7) the US does pay a lot, not everything but enought so keep israeli domination of the region.

8) some muslims are allowed to pary in jerusalem but not most, and there are quite a few restrictions
