I'll make a guess: Basically, it's because he is learned, and successful. He has achieved.

On the other hand, I suppose there is more status associated with a black President, so they love Obama. Besides, Obama is a Chicago black. That's different.

The definition of "conservative" is insane??? What do you think "conservative" means if not "a person who wishes to maintain the status quo". ("status quo" means "the existing condition".)

He's different than Sotomayor, as a matter of fact, in preparation and scholarship.

There's no need to guess. It's because he benefited from affirmative action and then opposed it. It's that simple.

I'm not sure that's true (that he benefited from affirmative action). Where did you get this information?

Affirmative action caused more harm then good, it put people who were not qualified in jobs they simply could not do, therefore it hurt the entire idea of giving someone an advantage or leg up.

Simple, most blacks cannot stand someone like him to start from scratch and build themselves up through hard work and determination and get where he is today.

Just like Bill Cosby, he told the truth and they hate the man for it.

They are very jealous of Clarence Thomas because he came from nothing to become a highly respected person.
