Thirty years later, democratic and progressive forces are finally starting to gain influence again. Iran has one of the most vibrant and engaged youth population in the world, and as their numbers grow they've been slowly reducing the power of the fundamentalist, reactionary facets of society. They still have a long way to go, but for that reason alone a progressive reformer is exactly who we want elected. Someone we can work with to further marginalize the Iranian hard-liners...

The neocons are just panicking because they're afraid of a repeat of Lebanon. They're terrified that Obama will make more progress with words than Bush did with two wars. They should be, because it shows just how badly they've failed....
How many times does it have to be repeated to you that no matter who is elected nothing will change? The President of Iran is nothing more than a figure head.

As far as the Iranian people go, they are decent people; unfortunately they are under an oppressive regime and will be for some time probably.

What do you mean not their own? They didn't do this.It was the government.
And by the way you have underestimated them. Some people have been killed just for a rally and you're saying they should destroy...
Maybe they will in the future.By the way don't call them stupid please.
