Located just outside of Detroit, Michigan, Dearborn is known for its Arabic population and culture. Immigrants from the Middle East settled in Dearborn when the Ford Motor Company began hiring Muslims in the 1930s. Today, nearly 100,000 Muslims live within the city. Several communities on DearbornÃs south and east sides are more than 90% Islamic.
Several communities - not the whole city.
The bulk of the city, is in the central and north areas. The south, closest to Ford and Detroit, is heavley Islamic, as many recent immigrants live there. (again my guess on the percentage of muslims is just a guess, from being there, often, not any official figure, but still better then those in the above article. )
(I love, again, how the article you posted, says Ford begin hiring muslims. They went around and asked "are you a muslim" and hired them? No they hired Lebanese who were Christian and Muslim.......then again , they say 100000 Muslims in the city.....hmmm the city has only 100000 people, talk about streching the facts)
Dearborn is 30% Arabic, not 30% Muslim. Muslim's are about 12%.
I go to the festivle for the food and music, and I find it funny that nobody there is pushing the muslim faith on you, but christian's decide that this is the place to shovle their dribble at you.
There are plenty of other corners to enjoy your free speech. Not the time, and not the place. (I'd say the same about any religious or political group at the event)
Are these christians nutjob/azzhats/rude to the extreme? Of course they are.
But - they should have the right to be christian nutjobs/azzhats/rude to the extreme as defined by our constitution regardless of who gets insulted by their views.
Look at the bigger picture here. A judge should not be able to take away rights guaranteed by the constitution for one segment of society in order to appease another segment. I don't like what they are about, but to say it is OK to take away their freedom of speech while believing that your freedom of speech will always be there is naive and dangerous.
They've got the rest of the city, and they rest of the state, to enjoy their free speech. Nobody is suppressing them. Go one block down, and hand out your bs.
Your philosophy is disturbing. The very premise of Free Speech doesn't stop on the corner of 3rd & Vine St. just because you disagree with those doing the speaking.
I agreee they should have the right unless we want to see cites ban what ever they want to several blocks away.If they violate the law by becoming a problem arrest them. This could prevent other from say marchiog in the capital area if upheld.Where is the ACLU?

Even if I agreed with them I wouldn't want them handing out un-related items to the festival. If they want to have a all thing christian festival, they can have it. (I don't think these christian's are even from the state)
But, the restriction is still letting them hand out information, just not roam the festival site handing out stuff. Two other groups are doing so, without complaining. (another detail the OP left out)
I disagree with many of today's interpretations of the Constitution.
I wish these evangelical Christians would somehow come to respect other spiritual paths as much as they want people to respect their own. They push to hard to destroy other cultures, and then cry victim when people push back.
I realize it's all rooted in the misguided belief that they are 100% right and everybody else is wrong, but I wonder how open they would be to Muslims proselytizing at their events. whose extreme wings also believe they are 100% right and everybody else is wrong.

You say you have gone to this event before ever noticed them? they have been doing this for 5 years.

Education system is failing.
I don't believe in any of these forced conversions, but I think this is a free speech issue. It seems very similar to this situation:
In the event, the American Civil Liberties Union interceded in behalf of the NSPA, in the case of the National Socialist Party of America v. Village of Skokie, wherein an Illinois appeals court raised the injunction issued by a Cook County Circuit Court judge, ruling that the presence of the swastika, the Nazi emblem, would constitute deliberate provocation of the people of Skokie. However, the Court also ruled that Skokie's attorneys had failed to prove that either the Nazi uniform or their printed materials, which it was alleged that the Nazis intended to distribute, would incite violence. NPSA = Nazis

There is nothing stopping them from having their own festival, parade or march. They can start marching from California (where they are from) if they want. They can have a booth and hand out what they want (at the event) (http://www.freep.com/article/20090618/NEWS02/90618059/1004/Judge++Group+can+t+roam+with+literature+at+Arab+fe stival - broken link).
