When someone else earns a lot of money, it does not reduce my income. Your covetous attitude cannot see past someone else's success.

It is quite unfortunate that your covetousness has further infected your political view so that you justify the government taking someone else's money on the pretext that you deserve it and they don't.

I don't know if you are joking or simply don't understand income tax.

A family with a household income of about $40k is going to pay about $5000 in taxes or about 12.9% of their income.

A family with a household income of about $100K is going to pay about $17,375 in taxes or about, obviously, 17.375% of their income.

A family with a household income of about $373K (the cutoff for the top tax bracket in 2009) is going to pay about $101K in taxes or about 27% of their income.

A family with a household income of about $1 MM is going to pay about $320K in taxes or, obviously, 32% of their income.

The more money you bring home, the more taxes you pay both in actual dollars and percentage of what you make although the curve slows as you go higher in income and freezes at 35% somewhere around $600,000,000/year.

How much wage tax did the last Chaiman of Exxon pay on his $400,000,000 retirement package? $6,500. Same as I would pay on my first $100,000

What you have cited above are theory. Nobody pays that much that's why they can afford accountants. If you are paying that much go buy a couple slum houses and claim the losses. Most people can claim the loss on their 401ks tanking.

he paid what the top tax bracket is, so 32% of the number you cited, not 6500 dollars, that is a few zeros to short. doing a little math for you, if that was truly his earnings, he was taxed $128,000,000

Only in an economy where there is a limitless supply of money.

as long as wealthy higher people to do jobs which will bring money, and as long as the wealthy purchase items, there will be money for all. Now the trick is, with all the opportunity's you have been given in this country, How will you play the game to get the money you wish to have?

Just like any other person in this country, you have the opportunity to become wealthy, you just have to work hard, and find that place to excel.

Taking ones money because you do not have enough is well.... stealing.

This is the most ignorant post I've seen on here. You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

Just to clarify; You're saying that the first $100,000 of income is tax-free?

I personally don't care if health insurance companies fail because of the existence of a public plan. Survival of the fittest...They have been screwing the American people for way too long.
