The rest of the article in the first link names the individuals who are responsible for attempting to quash the sorely needed health care reforms. Although Sarah Palin has appointed herself spokesperson for the "death panel" lies, the same people who were behind the defeat of Clinton's healthcare reform are responsible for attacking Obama's plan.

Much of the money and strategy behind the so-called grassroots groups organizing opposition to the Democrats' health care plans comes from conservative political consultants, professional organizers and millionaires, some of whom hold financial stakes in the outcome.
If President Barack Obama and Congress extend health insurance coverage to millions of uninsured Americans, raise taxes on the wealthy to pay for it, and limit insurers' discretion on who they cover and what they charge, that could pinch these opponents.

Rather, it has a far more mainstream provenance, openly emanating months ago from many of the same pundits and conservative media outlets that were central in defeating President Bill Clinton’s health care proposals 16 years ago, including the editorial board of The Washington Times, the American Spectator magazine and Betsy McCaughey, whose 1994 health care critique made her a star of the conservative movement (and ultimately, New York’s lieutenant governor).

And Dick Armey finally came out of the closet about his connection to Freedomworks (that supposed "grassroots" organization), and quit (was forced out?) the DC law firm he was working for, to devote himself 100% to defeating health care reform.
Quote:
Former House Majority Leader Dick Armey (R-Texas) is resigning from DLA Piper law firm amid a wave of negative attention his grassroots organization, Freedom Works, has drawn for helping to organize protesters at health care town hall meetings with members of Congress.

. . .

To that end, Armey, who had been with the law firm for six years, said that he intends to devote his full attention to FreedomWorks.

I actually hope they never have to find out how it would feel, which they won't, as soon as we get health care reform passed.

Well I think they will. Once it gets passes, and it will eventually pass, they will realize that they have be used. Once we do get a "REAL" public option, it will never go away. That is why they are fighting so hard.

I don't know what kind of link I ended up posting.

My intent was to use this link to support my statement.

Point well-made. Though something tells me they'll find every tiny scrap they can to disparage it in spite of its overall success.

A very biased thread with the usual people jumping the gun. Here is also part of the article:
"Still, supporters of a health care overhaul have outspent opponents by more than 2-to-1 so far, according to Evan Tracey of the Campaign Media Analysis Group, which tracks ad spending. Supporters include drug makers angling for their own protections, unions, the American Medical Association and AARP, the seniors' lobby. Supporters announced this week that they intend to spend $150 million promoting an overhaul."

I might add the link does not work above so no one can access the article without searching the web.

Are those groups hiding who they are and pretending to be grassroots like the opposition is?

No.
