And now another wingnut meme goes down in flames.

George H.W. Bush's speech broadcast to the nation's schoolchildren.

You people really are lunatics, you know.

Someone please tell the village idiot the kids do not trust him either!

Obama does not do something for nothing, he wants something out of this but guess what? we are not going give him a chance to screw up the kids like he has the country.
How has the President of the United States screwed up the country? The economy is getting better, it is all over the news today even Fox news. There are signs the recession is over. And answer me this, what is the issue with trying to provide health care for families who work hard, pay taxes and still can not afford decent health care?
I think most conservative that scream about the country becoming socialized have no idea what socialism means.
My fear is that these people who obviously haven't been educated correctly will be the next to run the country and then we all should be very afraid. The ignorance boggles my mind. I am from the northeast and did not realize just how ignorant the rest of the country really is.
Most of the parents that are against the president's speech claim to be people of values, so what happened to respect. Do you really think it is OK to teach children to be afraid of their president.
THE ONLY THING MOST OF THESE PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE ABOUT OUR PRESIDENT IS HIS COLOR!!!!!!!!!

It is plain creepy. Can we say indoctrination, totalitarianism?

Maybe it would be better if Cheney gave a speech because Bush's administration was soooooo transparent. I am so tired of everyone forgetting how much the Bush administration spent. Look it up.

zz4guy, I'm sure you remember that it's been a fairly frequent activity for presidents and other political leaders to visit schools. For example, Laura Bush visited a school in my area, and if you'll remember, GWB was visiting an elementary school to read The Pet Goat and talk to the children on the morning of 9/11.

Though I did not like Bush, I am fairly certain that he was not using his visit as a cheap-shot antic to push any propaganda other than the expected sentiments of "Stay in school" or "Get a good education." Again, hough I did not like the man or his policies, it would be absurd of me (or anyone) to assert that Bush was there to say "Waterboarding is cool!" or any other such ridiculous nonsense.
