I'd swallow that message easier. After the unPatriot act the Obama/Bush team supported and flag@whitehouse e-mail debacle, I have a lot less faith in politicians in general.

GWBs speech was ad hoc and during an emergency. It was not planned way in advance and certainly did not have local schools here in Wake County up in arms about being obligated to show it.

Bush came to one school. That is not a broadcast.

Oh, and your strawman in the 3rd passage was successfully averted.
Um no, GWB did not only speak to kids after 9/11.

President Bush Speaks to Elementary Students in Milwaukee

You're avoiding the question: what would you sheep do if Obama were to do what Bush I did, even at "only one school"? I would say a personal demonstration is far more effective than a broadcast btw.

What strawman? It's the whole point.

I don't know how old your children are, but if we consider the youngest in this audience, say 4- 5- 6-year olds, they are like sponges. They will retell what they remember, but they most likely won't have a lot of questions. They will simply absorb, and it will be a seed sewn in the subconscious. Kids this age are very impressionable.

Wonder whether anyone has estimated how much this will cost the tax payers. That would be interesting.
Subliminal messages, eh? What do you remember from when you were 4?

Well, I guess you don't belong to the John Birch Society b/c you have never heard of it. That in itself is sad, and shows you need to brush up on your history before throwing such a hissy fit about a speech by Obama.

Maybe you should wait to hear the speech before going off on such a tangeant.

Or do you all believe one 15 minute speech can turn all these little kids into lock-step Obamatrons?
Apparently a lot of people on this thread think just that. Sad, really, that these parents, especially, have so little faith in their own parenting that they think a 15 min speech by someone with whom they disagree politically will "warp" their kids forever. They have to be there, to monitor it, to stick the earplugs in little Suzy's ears if Obama says "we all need to work together" or something similar.

How about those (I'll admit I've done this) who turn the TV on and then go make dinner in another room while the kids are left to watch TV? We are supposed to believe that all these parents sit and monitor everything their kids see. LOL!

Amusingly, it's that kind of smothering, hysterical, pinheaded behavior that drives kids to swear they'll be the exact opposite of their parents in later life. It's classic.

Next 1960s: 2020s?

Most of my posts here on CD are not in favor of Obama but I don't believe that every time he takes a sh*t he is secretly contaminating the water supply

"...any day now...."

Are you all going to spend the next eight years in a constant state of freakout, waiting for a social cataclysm that Glenn and Rush promise you is right around the corner but which somehow never comes?

I think you will, and are happy to.

I'm not saying this is what is going to happen so please don't jump me.

But brain washing always starts out very innocent and works its way up.
