But, that aside, are you saying that my kids should be in school that day so they don't appear racist? (It IS all about race, isn't it?)
It's always about race to these Obama-Lovers. The fact that Obama is a Marxist has nothing to do with it, they think...

Personally, I do not mind giving Obama or any President the forum. But unfortunately, I've heard the man and his associates speak. And I do not think their influence is appropriate or to be emulated by our students.

Our green czar: “white polluters” and “white environmentalists” “steering poison into the people of color communities”

-- Van Jones

Obama's Science Czar says, "Forced abortions and mass sterilization are needed to save the planet."

Presidential Medal of Freedom awardee: Her stewardship of the UN Human Rights Commission in 2002. At the April 2002 session, the commission voted (and passed) a resolution endorsing "all available means, including armed struggle" to establish a Palestinian state. Put aside whatever one thinks about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The commission chose specifically not to exempt suicide bombing--a plague of which had erupted in 2001-2002--from "all available means." Basically, under Robinson's stewardship, the commission decided to recognize the murder of non-combatant men, women, and children on buses and in cafés as legal.

-- Presidential Medal of Freedom awardee Mary Robinson, who chaired the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, who, in her role as secretary-general of the conference, failed to provide the leadership needed to keep the Durban 2004 UN Racism Conference on track and anti semitic.

Obama is using GE, ABC, NBC, ACORN, SEIU, & the NEA to advance WH agenda. I am very suspect of his upcoming speech. He is very narcasistic and don't believe he can pass up an opportunity to sell his agenda. The last person to speak directly to (indoctrinate) students was Hilter. I'm suspect. I do not think Obama will limit his address to working hard, studying hard and some volunteerism; it's going to go beyond that.
Yes, he is going to use subliminal advertising techniques to hypnotize the kids into herding their parents into cattle cars. Next stop: concentration camps and ghettos. Then they will be forced to wear uniforms with his face embroidered on the pocket. The Pledge of Allegiance in schools will be replaced with a "sig heil" salute. His VP, disguised as Biden, but actually Josef Mengele will proceed to perform outrageous experiments on these children.

As demented as this sounds, it is not nearly as demented and twisted as the minds of the right wing lunatics. If you had any sense, you would be embarassed to regurgitate such nonsensical crap.

God, I hope that some school administrators will post on the Internet what happens in some of these conversations with the paranoid Bircher GOP socialism-avoider parents!

hahahahahahahahahaha!

I know there have been other times in the past where televised programs were shown in the classroom. Big happenings, news, etc. I think it's kind of neat that the President is reaching out like this, since most kids don't have a clue about politics. It would be cool for them to see the President talking to THEM, although truthfully most of them will be bored and not pay attention anyway.

I also think it's entirely appropriate. If Obama chooses to do this then it becomes appropriate by default. With everything else going on during the school day, and dozens of things I consider inappropriate, this is definitely a bright spot.

Anyone freaking out about this can't be thinking clearly. Whether you voted for him or not it's a new idea, creative and innovative. I give it a thumbs up.

After all that, your school might not even be showing it?!

It really is appropriate for a president to speak to kids in the school setting and to get them thinking about civics. It would NOT be appropriate for him to speak to kids during prime time on network TV.

Well let's see how about a Harvard Doctor? Their aunt. Or how about a Chemical engineer with a PhD, their uncle. Or how about a electrical Engineer with a master degree, their father or and MOST important how about their entire family that love them more then their own lives.

Please you are sick if you think a child should feel "privileged" to listen to Obama because he is a lawyer nothing more.

The first is Reagans address to the nation on a disaster, not Obama's address (most likey indoctrination) to our nations students. Next is Bush having school kids over to the WH, were he told them drugs are bad (a fairly non-partisan message).

I simply do not think Obama can be non-partisan. I await his mssg.
