Good article here from Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight dot come, he thinks 70,000 is a reasonable estimate which coincides with the D.C fire department. Nate explains how crowd estimates are done.
What I meant regarding credibility is this....if you are comfortable in your own skin and know that you speak the truth, you don't need to worry what strangers on an internet forum surmise about your character. Hope that clears things up for you.
I live in the District of Columbia and yesterday was no big deal in terms of crowds. Like a big summer day of tourists. Par for the course if you live in DC. Almost every week there's some wacked out group claiming 2 million. LOL

Except we have NO official estimate from anyone, including the FD. Do you have a link?
I think I will take the OFFICIAL arbiters of crowd estimation for The Mall - the Park Service and their schematic.
Nate Silver is a leftist hack and like the rest of the leftists will go to great lengths to "explain" away the great turnout from yesterday/

You do realize that link takes you to an article dated January 20, 2009, right?
