The crowd is ON the mall and along the sides. They are also under the trees and spilling on to the side streets. They were not allowed fully on the mall due to other events happening that day. I heard a report that FW permit was not sufficient for the crowd that actually showed up.
Since they are taking up every square inch of space, jam packed, spreading out on the mall and the sides of the mall, it is safe to say that it was well over 100,000.
Based on the Park Service schematic, maybe even closer to 200,000.
they were not jam packed. close up photos clearly show that. here's a video, also from freedomworks:
Must be true. It's in a British tabloid beside "Kelly Brook's 'boobs and bikini' flick lands her in hot water with boyfriend Danny Cipriani" and "Kylie turns heads as she steps out in see-through crocheted dress"
The exact number does not even matter. Any reasonable person can see that one heck of alot of concerned citizens showed up in DC to protest the actions of Obama and Congress. If that is not a wake up call, I don't know what is.

you're right. it was a lot of people. it was a very big protest. i just don't understand why people are insisting that it was many, many, many times bigger than it really was.
That was my perception based on pictures. I did not mean that there was not room to move. Geesh. Look at the pictures. Americans are protesting Obama and Congress in droves. If you cannot see that, that is not my problem.
