Should the Government (Federal, State or Local) decide whether a private business can allow customers to smoke or not within its facilities? SHould it be left up to the owner and the customers (they could always go to the place that suited their preferences the best).

No they should not.

ok. Is there any state or town where smoking is still allowed in restaurants, bars, clubs like 20 years ago?

I don't think any city, state, etc. should tell businesses whether or not they can allow smoking.
I personally don't want smoking when I go out to eat which is why I get take out if a restaurant has smoking or I choose not to go there.
When I go out to the club, I encounter people who smoke and I take the risk of getting lung cancer.

My concern would be small children who are taken into places where there is smoking. An adult has more power over where they go.
At the same time, that could get us into, "Should parents be allowed to msoke around their kids" and all that jazz.

I think whether or not a business should allow smoking should be left up to the owner and/or the customers. If the customers are fine with smoking, so be it.

Oh, God - yes. Right here in good old St. Louis, Mizzurah. Although the tide is slowly turning with regards to smoke-free bars and restaurants, there are still hundreds of dingy, dives in the blue-collar neighborhoods that cater to those who are dumb enough to smoke and enjoy smelling like dog excrement.

I am a Libertarian, and I don't want the government involved in ANYTHING, but I am very much anti-smoking.

Parts of Indiana still allow it--Connersville and Richmond have several.

Oh, ok, I had thought this had become a trend nationwide after smoking bans had been enacted in some big towns.

LOL, yes I'm sure there are still plenty of places that allow smoking. I live in Milwaukee, it hasn't been banned until next summer. Then, it's a statewide ban which is a pis*ser but hopefully I will have quit by that time.

Heck, even Virginia will soon have a statewide smoking ban in restaurants and clubs. Takes effect December 1.
