Transcript: Obama on 'Face the Nation'; he also talks about the CIA investigation, Afghanistan and "the tenor of this debate"

Schieffer: … no tax of any kind on Americans. Can you still make that promise to people today?

Obama: I can still keep that promise because, as I've said, about two-thirds of what we've proposed would be from money that's already in the health care system but just being spent badly. And as I said before, this is not me making wild assertions.

Right..should have started that with "Once upon a time....".

I'll believe it when I see it. No way can you subsidize insurance and not have to pay anything back.

Well, you could read the plan. He went into some detail, more than here, in the health insurance speech, probably elsewhere too.

Delu; we already know obama is trying to redefine the definition of what a tax is - for the sole purpose of being able to say he will keep his promise of no new taxes for those under $250K.

Are you really falling for the smoke and mirrors?

Isn't it eerily similar to Clinton's definition of what "is" is?

There is no way he will get a pass on this one.

I know you desperately want to believe what he says, but do you think that is an objection source for the facts?

The bill, the ACTUAL BILL, page 29, subtitle D, says it right there - a tax.

I guess it is suffice to say either Obama didn't read the bill? Or if he did, lied to us. It begs the question. So tell me, which is worse.

Pg 29, Baucus Health Care Bill

Excise Tax. The consequence for not maintaining insurance would be an excise tax. If a taxpayer...

Excise tax. Excise tax. Excise tax. "No tax of any kind on Americans". Except "The consequence for not maintaining insurance would be an excise tax."

Hmmmm.

I guess Obama wasn't smart enough to realize citizens are capable of doing a word search on a pdf?

Obama's too "intelligent" for a yes or no answer.

gee, the obamanator is on video telling yet another lie. I'm so shocked, no really I am. It just sounds like I am reading a teleprompter.

people that still believe this fool need to buy some property from me. Just never mind the people that claim they actually live there. They're just old white delusional fools.

BTW, this will later become the however many we're up to now time he was misquoted, misspoke, or was not aware of all the facts.
