i think this past election proves that americans are waking up. they are doing their civic duty by trying to vote in change. if that doesn't work, then we will see what happens. let's face it, as long as the safety nets are in place americans aren't really going to be feeling the pain of all of this ridiculous wasteful spending yet and dollar depreciation. in another year or two let's see what happens, although i am not advocating taking up arms.

if all taxpayers withheld taxes the government would listen. the government only has power because the workers give it to them - TO SERVE THEM.

the government needs to be concentrating on its duty to enforce the law, whether it is with the illegal immigrant population or with the wall street crooks, by getting the SEC off its rear. you can't keep rewarding bad behavior!

until the government starts doing this, there is a moral hazard to this country that is going to continue taking us down the wrong road. a government cannot keep rewarding bad behavior and punishing good behavior (as the savers in this country are losing value in their money and assets). the government thinks that by allowing a false asset bubble to form they are fooling the public but you CANNOT BUILD TRUE WEALTH ON A DEPRECIATING CURRENCY. currency is a promise and a country with strong, stable pro-growth policies will garner trust from investors, thus creating demand for its currency and appreciating its currency value.

No, I'm not saying the military would topple the government. On the contrary, I think the make-up of our military is such that it wouldn't really take any "official" side, but would most likely fracture into factions just like the civilian population....

Again, I haven't really logistically thought out a scenario, but I know I'm not suggesting a military coup will occur.

I voted "no", but I am sure there are plenty that are hoping for a "civil war"....

yes, but only if you own a car you are required to buy insurance, and it is not enforced with a government fine if you dont. It is go at your own risk.

For being alive you are required to buy health insurance and if you don't there will be a penalty.

sort of different, the two are...

I believe that it is possible, although highly unlikely with the way things are. It takes A LOT for Americans to be willing to put their lives on the line. I could picture Republicans being more willing to do such a thing. I think Democrats are much more passive and would take a lot more crap before they actually do anything that involves actual fighting (not protesting).

Now mind you, I love Texas

Why would it happen, because of a couple of sore loosers that whine on and on that they cannot stand living by the rules? Nope ain't gonna happen, main reasons are that the Vast Majority like the USA as it is, especially when compared to what some far rightwing nut bags would offer and secondly those same far right nut bags are splineless cowards that are all talk and no action, if they weren't they would have tried something by now. Enough said.
