They are caucasian just like you but not of the same ethnicity or nationality.
Stop playing cognitive dissonance. And no, you do not know your "own" people. I've heard white europeans even refer to white americans as 'animals'. I find it embarassing for you that you think you can speak for all caucasians or even europeans. lol
lol. The point is they sure don't feel any connection so that's an equivalent analogy and it has nothing to do with just culture of other races but of white bread america being very foreign to them.

Actually when the Eastern and Southern Europeans immigrated to the United States they were considered black and had to work their way towards whiteness. A great book about this subject is, "Working Towards Whiteness: How America's Immigrants Became White, The Strange Journey from Ellis Island to the Suburbs" by David R. Roediger.
no they werent lol.. just cause some wacky american of that time considered someone black does not mean they really are
In Italy/Sicily, my bf told me that they don't call themselves white, but Italian or Sicilian. He said that when they come her they are almost coerced into picking a color. His true identity is Sicilian, but he had to identify himself as a generic category such as white. Why?
If you have to chose color or group why would you choose any other than white?
