The United States has since the Clinton administration long recognized oppression for being gay as grounds for political amnesty. Even the Bush administration agreed with that. Uganda is like Iran in murdering gays and lesbians. I would argue that some Christians have a victim mentality. Christians are clearly in the majority in the U.S., but still, they believe they're being oppressed.
