Not bad for year 1.
Unless of course you dont agree with the promises kept because they are unamerican and not helping us at all..

What gets me is that Republicans try to paint Obama as friendly to the banks when many in their own party won't even vote for financial reform. I was listening to NPR and one commentator said many Republicans are opposed to banks having the ability to gamble irresponsibly with deposits they get from their customers.
My issue is when you start to regular banks you mess with the entire cycle of business BUT we should also let them fail if they mess up. I know my bank had ZERO issues because they did not take risks so there was no need to bail them out. If a business can not run itself effectively they should fail.

I have two issues with his speech. First he needs to stop placing blame on the past. Second, he needs to mean it about working with Repubs because up until now he has not. The Dems have had closed door deals and it is very hard to give your ideas when you are on the other side of the door.

If he follows through on even 5 of the things he said I will praise him from the roof tops. I don't want him to fail because that means our country fails and we look weak and stupid to the rest of the world not something I want.

What a record.

Any one can make a promise on easy things, but it takes someone great to keep the very most important ones.

That he has failed at.

It is not the numbers, it is the QUALITY of those promises that matter.
How are those 15 more important than any 15 of the 91 completed?

I agree we should let them (banks) fail.
At the same time, many banks have been infused with taxpayer money so it's in our best interest to regulate them so we can stop losing money.
I'm all for letting them fail once they repay taxpayer money.
I personally would have liked to nationalize the banks instead of bailing them out and them handing out HUGE bonuses with taxpayer money.

I personally have a problem with banks making risky investments with depositors money. They need to decide if they want to be an investment bank or a commercial bank that loans money to consumers, businesses, etc. You shouldn't be able to do both.

Republicans and Dems have to work together. I agree Dems haven't been perfect but you can't blame it all on them.

(Wow, it's so sad to see the sad looks on the military leaders faces. Honestly, what is so horrible about gays serving in the military? Get over yourselves already!)
