So when Hasan killed those people, he was sane? Mental illness doesn't apply to Muslims just White Christians? interesting

Great! We'll completely seal up the Palestian territories cause they're all mentally ill. Then we'll seal up regions of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Indonesia, and the Philipines. Oh, don't forget Chehnia (spelling?) who keeps giving Russia trouble.

Ahhhh, so you get ideology and insanity/mental illness mixed up? LOL Pleeeezzzz, give us a break. I have no doubt whatsoever that there is mental illness amongst "Muslims" just as there is mental illness to be found in all cultures, religions, nationalities, and countries.

So all Muslims are exactly the same? It's not possible that Hasan was different and was mentally ill?

"Domestic terrorism refers to activities that involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any state; appear to be intended to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; to influence the policy of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States. [18 U.S.C. § 2331(5)]"
It does fit the description, he wanted to get his views through by doing this.

Why don't you explain how this person was mentally ill and not motivated by ideology yet Hasan was not mentally ill and motivated by ideology alone?

Yeah, sounds like the poster you're quoting here believes that. Hasan's case was an isolated incident, he was not indoctrinated to become a terrorist who believed he was going to be rewarded in heaven by blowing himself up. Mental illness does not discriminate. There is a difference between brainwashing a person and programing them to become a killer and someone having a mental illness. Mental illness is not caused by environmental factors (although it can be triggered) and can be controlled through treatment and medication.

Obviously some people do believe that Muslims cannot be mentally ill but is that really surprising? Biggotry is rampant. I am disgusted by the people who are glorifying this murder/suicide and trying to make this man into a hero. He was a sick man who killed innocent people and based on some of the responses in this forum, mental illness is more common than we think.

Terrorism isn't motivated solely by religion. He hated the IRS and even put it in writing and claimed he would strike against them. He flew his plane into a specific section of the building that housed nearly 200 IRS employees with the intent of killing them. Given these facts, explain how I'm overusing the word terrorist?
