From thefreedictionary.com

accept – except
Don't confuse accept /ək'sept/ with except /ɪk'sept/.
1. 'accept'
Accept is a verb. If someone offers you something and you accept it, you agree to take it.
I never accept presents from clients.
see accept

2. 'except'
Except is a preposition or conjunction. You use it to show that a statement does not include a particular thing or person.
All the boys except Paul started to giggle.
See except

Whatever works for you I guess. IMO, revenge is a sign of weakness and loss of focus on more important things in life.

You said what you did was legal. It most definitely is not. You're a scumbag.

"Except" is also a verb. Get it right if you're going to lecture others.

I think what you mean is that some don't except it but some do except it. Whether people recognize it or not, revenge is an important part of our society and is used continually even by the people that don't except it, they just don't recognize it when it happens.
Either you're joking or you don't get what I was saying:

What kind of lesson would your torturer actually learn from that? It's possible the new victim has already recovered nicely from his terrible day and has no idea why this happened to him so he will think of it in the future only fleetingly. You're imagining how YOU would react. Might not be his case at all.

20+ years stewing over this incident equals 20 years of your life wasted in my opinion, OP. I would never give some bully that much power in my life. Bad things happen to people. Good people rise above the sh*tty circumstances of their past and go on to do things to help prevent that sort of thing in the future. All you have done is let the hatred fester in your heart. Have you made the world a better place? Have you stopped any other children from being abused or bullied? Or have you picked at the scab of your own hurt until it became infected and allowed that infection to invade your heart and mind? I feel very sorry for you that you think this will give you closure.

I am glad I am not still hanging on to things that happened to me back in the days when I still needed a babysitter.

I'm sorry but you all have been punked. The OP is a teenager or very young man fantasizing about getting even with bullies from the past. This is all made up BS.

Probably. Hopefully he learned that most people really don't agree with him.
