We can see it right now with everyone partying during the outbreak.

Sure Americans of all colors and sizes will be kind and pretend to care about a lot of stuff.

Maybe if something happens to them or their inner circle, they will start fighting for that cause.

But outside of that narrow scope Americans will never sacrifice any of their comforts for society or community.

Why?

Yeah, never.

Sure if something affects them they could become an activist, or if they need a hobby.

But when it comes to making themselves a little bit more uncomfortable, forget about it.

They don't care about a viral outbreak or social decay that doesn't affect them, but a $2 increase in the price of a gallon of milk will cause heads to explode.

They can't let anything get in the way of their consumerist life style or their inner circle of friends/family who are just as self-centered as them.

You see a few people having parties during the outbreak and decide all Americans are selfish?

Lol

"Americans" is a very, very broad category.

Do you realize that America is a melting pot of many different cultures, races, ethnicities and religious groups?

Which Americans are you referring to???

I did read in the newspaper, that some restaurants have reduced the number of tables, and have spaced them farther apart, which seems to be what the article is advocating.

But enough about us. Tell us about you. . Where are you from? Are you an American, or a foreign national, or an immigrant? What brings you to our corner of the planet?

All of them, and all immigrants become Americanized at some point.

And even the ones who are not mostly come here for their own family to get wealthy. None of that is wrong but its all that's fundamental to the American being.

Sure people will talk about kindness and all that, but its all about getting their kids into the best schools even at the detriment of others, buying useless stuff and pretending its culture, and getting first in line regardless of the consequences.

Every single American is selfish, regardless of race/class/ethnicity. People just show it in different ways.

This thread is meaningless because you can't generalize like this. For every example you name, I could name an example of some Americans doing the very things you're claiming they don't.
