I'm not taking it lightly; I was here last winter when 2" of snow would shut the town down for four days. I just find it funny that it inspired so much discussion before the snow even started.

We don't have the resources to deal with icy roads so be careful since you can't see black ice. Watch how many accidents there will be tomorrow morning when yahoo's think they can drive without salt/brine

Fyi, if your grocery store(Harris Teeter) has run out of emergency or scented candles look in the Jewish food section. They hadn't been touched at the HT near my house.

I couldn't get my generator started, but I have plenty of food, candles, propane heat, alcohol, and batteries. This will be my first ice storm in several years. I really miss the snow we had last winter in Chicago.

I don't think I have in NC. In Chicago? Absolutely. We used to be happy if we broke double digit temps in the middle of winter up there.

I love snow... hate ice. I wish we'd gotten a couple inches of snow at least before this ice started in. Bleh.

Me too. I was hoping we had at least one good snow event this winter. At least by Raleigh standards.

I don't think I've ever seen the roads get covered before the grass.

Sheesh I think it snowed for 20 minutes, then sleet. Really slippery already.
