How about church services being held in movie theaters and PUBLIC SCHOOLS? OMG that idea would barely make it out of someone's mouth up north!

I don't know about Cary but in Chapel Hill, the middle school near me, Culbreth Middle School, has a church that meets in it every Sunday - Greenleaf Vineyard Church.

Panther Creek High School hosts Northwest Community Church.

Mills Park Middle used to host a different church until it combined with Northwest Community Church.

Many schools, movie theaters, etc are hosts to churches. An easy way to make extra money from Sunday mornings, and with very little risk as long as the church pays up-front.

DC may not be "up North," but the DC area has some of the most churches meeting in theaters and schools in the nation. Mark Batterson's National Community Church is widely thought as one of the pioneers of the churches in theaters movement, and is often called "The Theater Church."

there are numerous schools that allow churches to use their buildings on the weekend. One would *assume* this is an arrangement made via WCPSS, and not the individual school.

Churches meeting in public schools is a national phenomena. There is nothing distinctly regional about it.
