We’ve done Fresh Market for several years. I get a great freshly made Turducken roll (turkey, stuffing, andouille sausage, duck, stuffing, then chicken ) that I then cook in the oven, plus their pre- made herb stuffing and gravy. A generic canned cranberry (I’m the only one that eats it). Usually do fresh broccoli and carrots from the garden, but pick up a pumpkin or sweet potato pie for dessert (w/ whipped cream and/or ice cream). Feeds 4-6 easily with leftovers. And wine...plenty of wine.
We moved into our house in 2013. We quickly established a social group of 12 or so, most of whom don't have any family nearby. We have Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners together.
Sadly, this year, it's different. Our group will be whittled down to 4-6, all sitting at our large dining room table or split up between the kitchen table and kitchen island.
I have not done a "to-go" Thanksgiving Dinner before, but just saw on Instagram that Mandolin Raleigh is taking orders for their "to-go" dinners and it looks pretty fantastic.
I live in the Brier Creek Country Club which has a restaurant. I think it's likely they'll do a to go option. I doubt they'll do a buffet. I'm also looking at Harris Teeter. Haven't checked Lowes Foods yet.
This year we'll probably be able to get by with just one - as it will only be four of us.
