This is a pink lady slipper wild flower. They are not necessarily endangered in NC, but they're also not common. I was quite surprised to find this one in my own backyard! They are a type of native orchid!

another wildflower in my yard: columbine

and my favorite: bleeding hearts

I was out at KRDU General Aviation again today
when I got tipped off that a high level
government official and his security detail
was getting ready to show up and leave in his aircraft.
I honestly had no idea who it was at first. I just
started snapping pictures hoping some would turn out.
Ended up being US Attorney General Eric Holder. He
was apparently in town for a presentation.
Anyway, here are a few of the pics and a link to a rest of the
photos on my Flickr site.

I forgot about this one. This is a pic of my dog Bongo.
Turned out pretty well for a picture I took on the fly.

I forgot about these pictures. I took them during the big snow this year at Cary Crossroads.

The next one was from last year's snow day.

Default Pictures from my trip - Raleigh, Durham & Chapel Hill

Here are a few of the pictures that I took while visiting your wonderful area. Unfortunately I didn't take enough of Raleigh (too busy driving around looking at home neighborhoods). I have a bunch of flower shots from the wonderful gardens we visited, but I won't clog up the post with those. Instead, here is a sampling of the things we saw. Loved it!
