I grew up with a ghost. Her name was Opal, and my mom knew her from the PTA where we and her son went to school. She died of cancer in the middle of remodeling the house. After we would all go upstairs to bed at night, the downstairs lights would go on. We would all be in the living room, and hear the cupboard doors open. The front door would open when there was no breeze. My dad just sort of made it a joke, asking her to please shut the door, or to be sure and turn the lights off. It never bothered us with her there. Mom and Daddy rented the house for eight years before they bought it. When they started to remodel, Opal left. We decided that she saw someone was going to take care of her house, so she left.
We sort of missed having her around. And I love some of these answers!
Just a random thought I had, but would it be a deal breaker for any of you if you found a house you like, ideal location/good price, but there was a death within the house in the past?
I don't know myself, it's not like I would necessarily ask, but the thought would creep me out, especially depending on the way the person died.
It would likely depend on how they died. If it was natural/non-violent, I probably wouldn't let it affect my decision. Something violent... I'd think twice.
My dh and I did. 82 yr old lady stabbed and beaten to death by her 62 yr old schizophrenic son. No issues, got a good deal. Sold it 3 yrs later and made over 100k profit. We disclosed the history, and got a contract the first day and two back up offers.
I wondered the same thing. I don't feel a bit silly.
However, I do wonder why people seem to feel it necessary to come up with their own silly abbreviations, then don't understand why somebody asks "What does that mean?"

Must be too much work to type the rest of the letters.
