We have had white since we got rid of our Avocado manual defrost refrig. and dryer. LOL The problem we had with white is replacing the refrig. that is counter depth. Not much choice and has to be special ordered. Stainless that I have seen does show fingerprints just as white needs cleaning as well.
Seriously what are the ages of your other appliances? Which ones do you expect to be around in 5 years? I would lean to white since you are replacing your black dishwasher and expect to replace the almond stove before then. How old is the refrigerator? Once you replace the other two will it look 'old' even though all would be the same color?
Honestly, you can't go wrong with stainless. It really isn't a trend or anything new. My grandmother's stove, oven, etc. were all stainless and they were probably from the 1970s.
Unless you buy really high end white appliances (which are going to cost a fortune), I wouldn't do white. They still come off as cheap, IMO. Most stainless is now finger print resistant. We started replacing our white appliances with stainless steel about 2 years ago (dishwasher and fridge) and just replaced the rest (cooktop and ovens) with the matching appliances about 2 months ago. Never had a problem with prints.
Both my daughter and daughter-in-law chose stainless steel appliances against wood cabinets - daughter's cabinets are medium brown and daughter-in-law's are dark brown. Both kitchens look great and they are very happy with their choices.
White always seems lower end than stainless steel. I flip houses and do rentals all day every day and that is the constant feedback I have from buyers and renters. I would say 4 out of 5 people prefer stainless steel. That last person just wants to not like stainless steel because everyone else prefers it hahah.
Match all of the appliances. No one wants a rainbow assortment.
Look at houses that have sold in your area and see what color the appliances are. I'm going to guess stainless because that's the most popular right now. Go to Home Depot and Lowe's and see what's on display. That's what's selling.
What do you like? You'll be the one using these appliances for the next 5 years. You don't even know if they will last 5 years. Appliances today last an average of 10 years....if you're lucky. Repairing them is rarely worth it today.
Nah white always turns yellow eventually, while black stay's black same with stainless steal just wipe them down with a wet rag while white appliances stain and discolor too easy. and look less modern(because I remember when all appliances were white or off white).
