I have fingerprint resistant stainless and love it. It's so easy to keep clean, much better than the regular stainless.

What is the price point of the house and what price range are you planning on spending on the appliances?

I think that inexpensive white appliances look like inexpensive white appliances, even though there are also higher end white appliances. For someone who is very picky about appliances, they will easily distinguish between cheap stainless appliances and more expensive ones. But for the average buyer, even less expensive stainless usually looks ok to them.

Just an opinion. 5 years is a long time to try guessing what the appliance color trend du jour is going to be. Buy an appliance in the color and with features you like and enjoy it for those 5 years. Forget trying to please some far-off future shopper! No matter what you choose they may opt to replace any or all of the existing appliances with some "statement" pieces (ridiculous IMO) anyway.

Stainless Steel has been a front runner for a long time now , blends in nicely with every decor, white appliances - - -> blah.

Resale, different color applicances can distract, may not matter unless they are higher end.

Get one with metal handles or no handles to avoid that problem.

No handles on a stove. Microwave and fridge? How does that work?
