The exception is if you're going for the commercial kitchen look. In which case, you're using custom stainless steel countertops and professional appliances that match.
No way would I pay 1200$ for a dishwasher
If you won’t replace all appliances by time you sell get dishwasher that allows the front panel to be replaced fairly easily
Some come with multiple panels anyway
Fridges usually go with the homeowner is they are not built in
I like black and stainless steel. White is nice too, but not my top choice. All 3 are classic choices, it is just a matter of what you like best and what goes with the rest of your kitchen. IMO, stainless works with just about any color/stain cabinet and flooring whereas black and white can look a bit off sometimes.
Personally, I prefer the stainless steel appliances. Many appliance stores sell sets at a discount with the same color/style. What I or you prefer can vary greatly. Most buyers will replace certain appliances if they don't like the existing ones when they buy a home from my experience as a prior Realtor who sold homes for almost 5 years.
Bingo i know right off the bat that when I buy my retirement home i will replace the appliances no doubt . Im sure whoever buys my house will do the same even though im leaving all of them including the washer and dryer .
White appliances look ok with everything but white cabinets IMO. I don't like that look.
I've been with black appliances for almost 20 years and went through this debate when my dishwasher conked out last year. Since I got all my black appliances at the same time, during a kitchen remodel, I know the rest will probably shortly follow and figured if I was going to change colors this would be the time. In the end I bought another black dishwasher though.

I sold my last place with the fridge - it was a great fridge, but it was full size and I needed counter depth in the new house. But I had to buy it when I bought the place, because the prior owner had taken their fridge. That was perfectly fine with me, it was black and I was not a fan. I replaced the black range and microwave they had left, and donated them to Habitat.
I was going to take my washer and dryer and initially had them excluded on the listing, but it became a negotiating point, and the difference in their offer once I agreed to leave the washer and dryer was more than enough to get new ones for the new house.
