Females, if someone says you are "cute" or "hot", which is better, and which do you mostly look for?

Both can be taken as a compliment, but I put more stock into the person who's giving the compliment.

I think if someone called me "hot" I'd wonder if they were really talking to me. "Cute" is more accurate.

Hmm, I'd rather be called hot, cute sounds too diminutive.

I would never call a girl cute. Sounds condescending and something you'd say when you can't with a straight face call her hot. Or beautiful or sexy.

Neither, if I had to hear anything I'd prefer lovely, pretty. Better yet, say you look like a soft delicate petal of a lily that fell from the sky. Then I would throw up and may have had a calorie less meal.

I guess you don't date English lit people then.

Actually, Eng lit, was my favorite subject in school. Just not for it in my coffee of real life. Used to enjoy exchanged poetry with boyfriends of long ago. Not really so much jaded, just so over it, you know, too much of a good thing sometimes wears, no grates on the nears after a while. But when some people use certain words or phrases, I still melt. I don't know why, but someone called me darling and my toes curled. Maybe it reminded me of a hunk of burning gentlemanliness not seen often these days.
