so what do you, smart nerdy men at city-data think of 25 year old girls? Are they past their prime? How at this point in their life should they be navigating the dating pool to capitalize most of whats left of their beauty and youth?
Are they past their prime at 25?? Really??..........that's yet to come, they ain't even close...and their beauty has only just begun.

But it doesn't matter anyway because we aren't judge principally upon our looks. A salt and peppered-hair, 39-year old surgeon will have more appeal to women than a 24-year old, third-year med student still eating Ramen noodles.

Question: If an old dude is pulling 22-year old hotties, then how does that make him "delusional?" Sounds like he's WINNING to me.
Often by 40 men's testosterone levels have dropped significantly. A 50 year old is still a 50 year old, man or woman. And physically neither gender can compete on a purely physical beauty aspect with 20 year olds. You are delusional to believe a 50 year old man is as attractive as a 25 year old man while women are washed up at 26.

I believe a surgeon would have more appeal than a med student eating ramen noodles, regardless. And old dude pulling 22-year old hotties is reserved for RICH old dude. Its the money not the looks.

A man in his 50s won’t be as attractive but somehow men, generally speaking, do not lose sleep or their appetite over aging and gaining weight like women do. Men and women normally worry about different things pertaining to their gender.

Age for the most part is only number.

Have seen females past their prime in their late teens. Take care and respect your body and it will do the same to you.

Works for men and women.

While that's true in many cases, a rich old dudette is far less likely to be able to do it - if she even wishes it, that is. That's not to say I agree with the original thread title, though.

Maybe "somehow" men don't lose sleep because they aren't being seriously told that they're washed up and worthless after age 25, when they know that's inherently ridiculous.

The numbers don't even tell the whole story. There is an obvious difference between a 5'8, 220 pound runningback (33.4 BMI) and a 5'4, 175 pound round mound (30 BMI). There are virtually no exceptions where a woman will exceed the obesity threshold and be considered attractive by the majority of men. She either ends up looking like Serena Williams or Roseanne Barr.

Yes, in the overweight category more women are obese , but there are more men in that category period. And we're not talking 25 or 26, but 27, 28. You guys need to get real with yourselves.

Alot of men feel you can groom them at a young age. Not all so I see why some women feel they have a certain amount of time to find a good man.

It depends really on the man, his views will basically shape her views.

And nobody seems to be taking into account that many of these overweight women have been through a pregnancy or two (which isn't exactly kind on the body) and are responsible for the majority of childcare and domestic chores, which gives them less time and energy to spend on themselves.

Men don't compete with men on a "purely physical beauty aspect." We compete with each other on a "status aspect," and status is amorphous.

A 50-year old man is often more attractive than a 25-year old man. He usually has more money, more life experience, more confidence, and most importantly, more experience dealing with women.

It doesn't matter. Looks is one way for men to attract women (and often the weakest attractant). Power and dominance are more attractive. "Attractive" meaning "actually turning women on." What a man may lose in physical appeal, he often makes up with higher earnings, higher job status, and experience. A woman who loses her physical appeal, on the other hand, has no compensating attributes to attract men. That's why a 50-year old Sinead O'Connor is struggling to get a date from the mail man and a 50-year old George Clooney can get laid with virtually any woman he wants.
