This derailment occurred because someone brought up "Officer and a Gentleman," and then added "Pretty Woman," and "Maid in Manhattan." Let's get off the movie stars and stick to the OP.
Oh, okay. She worked in a law office. My mistake. The point is that she dressed inappropriately and looked trashy. The character in Mystic Pizza was supposed to be rough around the edges, too. People are belaboring the point because you and a few of the MEN here started making snide comments about Julia Roberts' looks. Indeed, you proved one of the article's other points, that no matter what a woman does, even if she's a Supreme Court Justice, she is still judged according to her suitability as a potential sex partner. You behaved exactly as the article described!

The movie stuff IS relevant because the Cracked piece talks about it, and uses Officer and a Gentleman as an example.

Maybe some of you fellows should actually READ the blasted thing before you comment on it.

There are many guys who didn't like cheap looking girls when they were 18 and had plenty of sexual suitability.

Yep, you're still behaving as the article described. You're playing everything the article said to the hilt. Heck, maybe Cracked has been spying on you!

Why, because cheap is the reciprocal insult to a woman that gentleman is to a man?

Sidebar: Tom Leykis isn't a "shock jock." He's one of the most common-sensical radio personalities out there. Women hate his message.

Misogynist porn has done a lot of damage to men's relationships with women. Porn used to be more hidden and shame-based but now it's encouraged viewing, available to everybody at any age, and young boys can easily get access to it now. How can viewing that junk at such a young age not warp their opinion of women and sex? They think: so this is how sex is supposed to be, and then they copy it.

Most porn has nothing to do with pleasing women sexually. Many men today are clueless about the art of making love. They just want what the porn industry has told them what they want- a bukkake party.

As a result, many modern men find it difficult to relate to real-life women, so they retreat into their fantasy world made up of model-perfect-women-as-sperm-receptacle, then they become lonely because and all the hot model chicks are not dating them as they've been brainwashed into thinking would happen, then they become bitter towards women which eventually turns all women off to them.

It's a vicious cycle.

If you feel the term "gentleman" is insulting, there's nothing I can do to help you.

The point is that WHO CARES if you think Julia Roberts is hot or not? That shouldn't be the criteria for judging the characters she plays or her merit as an actress.

Never heard of that guy, and that's okay. I made it 45 years without him, I can go another 45.

Do us all a favor and read the Cracked piece. It seems like you haven't, and are instead just talking out your butt. Quote a few things in the article you disagree with, and explain why. Anything else is just hot air.

Personally, I think porn is disgusting...not to mention repetitive, lacking in creativity, and boring.

The most attractive things about a woman are: 1) her face, 2) that her body is reasonably proportioned (her outline is within mine), 3) that she's smart and reasonably refined, 4) that she's fun to do things with and is fanatical about travel, and 5) that she DOES NOT want/have kids.

If Junior grows up with the misguided notion that sex is like porno movies, then Junior's parents forgot to talk to him about girls.
