I'm in favor of prostitution being legal but I would never use one. To me it's kindoff like, you really can't get a women to like you enough to sleep with you? Really?

That's precisely the problem for some men. If you're not going through that yourself, you'll never know what it feels like. As for anyone who's seriously thinking of the "professional" prostitutes, I would recommend sticking it out on Craigslist casual encounters & just searching for a normal girl who's not a professional but is searching for a bit more disposable income and is willing to have sex for it. They may be more fun for amateur hobbyists (men who pay for sex) than to be with a professional who may seem a bit too cold & distant for you.
Some men really do have no choice but to seek to pay for sex just to feel some female companionship & warmth. Again, if you've never been in such a situation & you don't know the despair and emotional pain loneliness can wreak.....you just wouldn't understand.
Just an observation. It seems that there are SO many threads on CD about seeing prostitutes or otherwise paying for sex.
How many people here are really doing that? I find it very highly unlikely the percentage is very high for many reasons.
It seems it gets far more attention and discussion on these forums than is really warrented.

Probably not many in this forum actively see prostitutes. First, the vast majority of hooker clinets are men...you basically rule out approx. 50% of the population right there. Regarding men: most guys do not regularly employ the services of prostitutes (though I suspect that a significant percentage of U.S. men have at some point in their life been with a hooker). A survey in the UK found that around 20% of men there had been with a protitute. I would not be surprised if the percbntage was about the same in the U.S.
But prostitutes and prostitution garner outsized interest throughout popular culture and literature, probably because most people are very interested in sex. No surprise that the topic would come up a lot here.
Not me. Only one person in my group of friends has payed money for sex, but he's not really a close friend, and it was in another country where its legal, ha, and he never really has trouble meeting women. (from what I understand from my friends, the girls come from big cities with friends to the vacation towns, party, have fun, go out, find a guy they like, solicit them, and then get paid to enjoy sex with a guy they might sleep with anyway)
I remember looking on Craigslist and seeing 100's of postings by prostitutes, but I think CL changed the site, although you can still find them if you look. Other than being solicted in other countries where its open and legal, I've never seen one in the US or Mexico.
Prostitution is just one of those things, legal or not, that's going to happen in one form or another. I would never, because I wouldn't enjoy paying someone to have sex with me, in addition to the STD and "ick" factor (its also against the law around here), but I can understand why some do.
Good, bad, wrong or right, I've seen documentaries where women describe the first time sellling their bodies, and its awful to listen to. I really don't want any part of it. The porn industry isn't far behind I suppose, but, in my opininion isn't nearly as degrading.
I just dont get why dudes use prostitutes. If you want to always have sex on deck at all times, build a roster of women that will sleep with you through a FWB or Bootycall setup.
The guys who get laid the most aren't sleeping with 5-6 random women ever week. They build rosters over years so they'll never be without sex even if they're not in relationships. That's something my older brother taught me when I was 16 and its as true today as it was 9 years ago.

Well for some guys, building a roster isn't easy. There are actually some guys who can't even get women to show up for a tryout let alone build a roster spot.

I don't imagine it's common at all, but given some of the posts from these guys, their views on women, the way they debase women, I see suggestions that they should get a prostitute because that would fit their views/use for women.
