Couldnt agree more with the OP. The best thing you could do is to keep your shirt on, dont show skin, smile and have a nice shirt on (or pants if its a full body shot).
I think some men flex in their photos because they know that they would want to see a girl in a revealing outfit so they themselves figure that if they show 'revealing' photos, women will respond. BZZZZZZZZT.
Women are looking for husband or serious boyfriend material (for the most part) they want a guy who looks like he has some class, has a job and will be a good dad to their kids.

As I said before, the majority of the guys showing their bodies off in pics online are NOT looking for a serious relationship or marriage; they are looking to get laid or for a fwb situation and are looking for women who who want the same thing. Women like the OP are not in their target demographic so it doesn't even matter what women like her think as they aren't the one's those guys are trying to attract anyway.
I'm sure if those guys were looking for something serious that could possibly lead to marriage and starting a family, they'd have more conservative pictures up in order to appeal to the target demographic.
I have laughed out loud half a dozen times in this thread. So thank you for that! I needed it.
The poster with their extended warblings about porn and prostitution, and the attempts to connect it to crappy bathroom mirror pics... outstanding.
I do wonder if duck face and bathroom pic happens on the more serious sites, like match.com and eharmony. Or is it strictly an OKC/POF thing? Help me out - I've been out of the game 7 years now.
I wrote about this a few months ago in my idiotic blog when I composed an entry about my online dating experience. //www.city-data.com/blogs/blog3...e-okcupid.html I would occasionally receive messages from guys who posted self-photos of themselves shirtless. The photos were almost always blurry cellphone pictures taken of a reflection in a mirror. They would always make me roll my eyes and shake my head in dismay. I think a guy might be able to get away with a shirtless photo if it were taken during some activity, and there was no blatant egotistical posing... I stress the word "might".
I think it is a very big stretch to say that people with muscles are egotistical.... Do you want a krispy kreme eating slob of a guy with man boobs?
Seriously, "muscle man" poses - especially if you're over 30 - just make you look like a tool. And so, so, so vain.
(Also unappreciated - those shots of yourself with just a table or counter barely covering your junk.)
This has been my PSA for today.
What? You wouldn't like this pic?
