Do you have ANY IDEA how many guys and girls are in your exact same shoes? My brother is 20 and lives at home and plans on doing so until he's in grad school at least...he also has a girlfriend.
I knew plenty of men and women that dated in college while living with their parents, it's actually quite common when you grow up in a college town. Especially in a college town like my old one where jobs pay minimum wage and rooms are $700 a month to rent. Hardly anyone lived on their own at that age.

I second this advice. Especially in this terrible economy, you want to focus on your finances as early as possible, because there's no guarantee recovery will speed up any time soon.
That's right college is keeping me from getting laid. The fact that I don't have a job, or much of any social value is the reason I am not confident. I also don't have a place of my own, yet. I would not be able to bring any girls in since I live in a small apartment with my parents and brother. There's just no way I'll be losing my virginity in this current scenario I find myself in.
So? You and thousands of other guys. There's nothing unique here, except for the fact that you've convinced yourself you have no value. Find a gf who has her own place. Did this really never occur to you? Stop beating yourself up. You might get a new perspective on life.
Women with their own apartments are rare where I live, trust me. If she did have her own she wouldn't be looking for a man-child with no job. Motels and Hotels are expensive and not worth it.

Probably you don't need a girlfriend for now, but your lowly status should not discourage you from going after girls (for "philosophical" conversations if for nothing else). You have very wrong mindset, and wrong is a very mild word. Some things are very age specific, you miss out a lot by obsessing about your status and confining yourself to textbooks and masturbation at this prime age. And it doesn't help you in the long run, you'll live you'll learn that "textbook" knowledge doesn't count even for a tiny bit what interpersonal knowledge (a.k.a. people' skills, a.k.a schmoozing, a.k.a. showing off, a.k.a kissing arse and faking it) counts for in the real life and career. You can practice all of that + confidence on the girls, they would not bite you. Trust me, you are young, even materialistic girls and women would overlook your current status and give you benefit of a doubt. It's OK (in woman' eyes) to be broke while climbing up to the through. It's when you are 40 y.o. and broke, you better subscribe for a super duper premium porn channel because you'll not be getting any.

This is a misconception. Women don't really notice if a guy's muscular or not, and they don't like overly-muscular guys. Work on your low self-esteem. That'll pay off a lot better. If you get muscular, you'll still be stuck wit the same depressive personality. It won't work.
