Its true that Society does look down on single people. If you don't fit into the 3 kids, marriage, White picket fence, and dog lifestyle many people will think your weird or a loser
Eh, I've been told that so many times it doesn't even have an effect on me.
"You're going to ComiCon dressed like April O'Neil? No wonder you're single"
"You don't wanna go out on Friday because a new video game came out? No wonder you're single."
"You're wearing heels out, you're already tall enough! No wonder you're still single"
"You're going to a Star Trek convention dressed like Ltn Uhura so you can get drunk and yell 'Course laid in, Captain' at guys and watch them get butthurt because that was technically Sulu's line...no wonder you're still single."
Ok.... in retrospect that last one may actually be a good reason as to why I'm single.
"You play online RPGs?, no wonder your single"...Yea, I hear stuff like that. It doesn't really bother me either.

This is changing though
This white picket fence must be something if everyone wants it.
meh, if I cared that much I'd probably agree with you. Somebody who says something to that effect to me and isn't joking around with me isn't really someone whose opinion I would care that much about.
No one ever says anything to me about it. I spent 30 years of my adult life single and unattached and I do not recall ever getting that feeling.
And if they did frankly I do not care. They are the one with issues, not me.
Well, I'm single now so I guess I'm looked down on too.
I don't know why you would say that.
Seriously, if this happens I am totally unaware of it. It may but I doubt it is more that a select few. I don't know why anyone single would care anyway. I know I don't.
Hold you head up and be proud. If anyone looks down on someone who is single that is a person I don't want to be around anyway. I have no use for such nonsense.
I agree with one big exception: This forum. Or, more specifically, the Relationships sub-forum. When people come here and ask for dating advice and then repeatedly show themselves to be rude, sexist (in either direction), spoiled, unrealistic, or willfully obstinate, then yes, I will tell them, "That is why you are single."
But people suddenly bringing one's marital status into an unrelated debate or discussion is uncalled for and inappropriate.
