Its true that Society does look down on single people. If you don't fit into the 3 kids, marriage, White picket fence, and dog lifestyle many people will think your weird or a loser

This is changing though

Ok.... in retrospect that last one may actually be a good reason as to why I'm single.

"You play online RPGs?, no wonder your single"...Yea, I hear stuff like that. It doesn't really bother me either.

This white picket fence must be something if everyone wants it.

Well, I'm single now so I guess I'm looked down on too.

meh, if I cared that much I'd probably agree with you. Somebody who says something to that effect to me and isn't joking around with me isn't really someone whose opinion I would care that much about.

I haven't noticed that at all.

No one ever says anything to me about it. I spent 30 years of my adult life single and unattached and I do not recall ever getting that feeling.
And if they did frankly I do not care. They are the one with issues, not me.

I don't know why you would say that.
Seriously, if this happens I am totally unaware of it. It may but I doubt it is more that a select few. I don't know why anyone single would care anyway. I know I don't.

Hold you head up and be proud. If anyone looks down on someone who is single that is a person I don't want to be around anyway. I have no use for such nonsense.

Generally speaking, if I tell someone "this is why you're single" I usually mean for it to be insulting.

Yes. Especially when you're considered attractive. You'll be questioned about your sanity and sexuality, or people just won't believe you.

I agree with one big exception: This forum. Or, more specifically, the Relationships sub-forum. When people come here and ask for dating advice and then repeatedly show themselves to be rude, sexist (in either direction), spoiled, unrealistic, or willfully obstinate, then yes, I will tell them, "That is why you are single."

But people suddenly bringing one's marital status into an unrelated debate or discussion is uncalled for and inappropriate.
