Like habitually eating junk food.

Well habits are habits . Food alone is not the problem. There are many foods that are not burgers pizza and hot dogs that are also loaded with fat, calories and cholesterol. What I am saying is that is all in the person's eating habits that the problem lies.

This is what my point is. Anyone can go to the grocery store and buy some donuts and pizza, just as unhealthy. That person won't get crap over it like they would about eating at a fast food chain.

<Raises hand> They would from me. Well, silently. In my head. Especially if they have kids with them. There is nothing more disturbing that seeing some rolly kid next to Mom's cart filled with pop tarts and pizza. Loads of us eat in fast food joints with moderation and no ill effect. But a grocery cart speaks to long term habits.

Just because there are other unhealthy things - it doesn't make fast food/junk food any healthier.

And a frozen pizza or donuts from the grocery store still aren't as bad for you as a burger and fries.

Look - we all have preferences. Some people don't like fast food. You aren't going to make people like what they don't like.

Just because other things are unhealthy doesn't make fast food not unhealthy. Donuts existing doesn't magically turn a Baconator into health food.

That's the thing with this whole thread. I rarely eat fast food. I don't eat it on my own, I don't eat it with friends, I don't eat it with family. Why would my preferences change in a relationship? If I'm going to eat a burger, it's not going to be from McDonalds.

Thats wrong. Go read the nutrition facts for a frozen pizza. If you eat an entire frozen pizza (like I do)...its well over 1500 calories. I have to eat alot to get full, it sucks.

For sure. I do the same. However, there is alot more stigma with fast food. IMO, eating crap at home is worse. I try my damnest eating healthy when I eat at home. When I go, I kinda know I'm gonna eat alot worse than I would at home...its alot harder when you are out with friends and whatnot. When you see your friends ordering soda and fries, its hard to avoid it.

Calories don't tell the whole story, of course. There is the badness of meat fats vs say the calories of the pizza dough. But I don't really agree with Dew. You could starve on that difference.

I don't know if this is interesting to you. IRC you are young and fit at this point. But if hunger management is a concern, eating a little cleaner might help. A big salad with a bunch of fiber, greens, sprouts... with some meat and a piece of fruit may fill you up better. It will likely last longer too since it won't trigger the same insulin response as fries or pizza dough. But as I said, I am not sure that is interesting to you.

Meh. Eat the fries every once in a while.
