Wow... What?!

Whatever

I don't know if I would write off anyone just because of the music she listens to. However, I can understand any negative attitudes towards rap music. What they are playing on the radio... They do have some retarded crap on the radio these days. However, there is a lot of good rap around. There are artists talking about real issues in their songs.

If you want good rap, a lot of the good mainstream rap came out in the 90s. For good rap made recently, you are going to have to do a little digging.

I would rather write off a woman for her personality, maybe even the fact tha I don't find her physically attractive, but for the music she listens too, I don't know.

Perfect example. Only 8 words but expressing stupidity in lack of values, lack of morals and materialism.

Rap of the 80s. Yes. Beyond that... Hell no! For one I don't even understand a word they say and it's all F that, kill that, rape that... WTF really?!!

80s rap has 'dirty' ones too but it's sooo vanilla compared to today's rap. More like virginal.

Like this my personal favorite:

Sally (That Girl) - YouTube

I also like bone thugs kind of rap.

Like this my personal favorite:

Bone Thugs N Harmony - Tha Crossroads - YouTube

I remember looking for this song on ALL the record stores in my country. Can't find it. I found it at last on flea markets selling bootleg/pirate music. LOL

Oh wait I didn't answer the question. The answer is no. I am already in my 40s so I question the maturity of the guy if he is still into rap especially today's rap. But then again, I already am married. I don't think my husband cared for raps though.

Is there really anyone alive under 60 who never listens to rap?

I mean, I mostly listen to weird stuff from the smithsonian, but even I have seen this and thought it was awesome.

I dont date girls that listen to metal. That genre promotes hate and death ( as evident of the mosh pit deaths) . And country music? Honky Tonk talks about women's butts.

NOT if I had to listen to that noise.

Look, before I get hate for my comment music is a big part of my life. I play guitar most Fridays I'm out with a group of Blues players playing guitar for fun. So, music is a big part of my life and my identity for better or worse.

Would I date a woman who listens to rap? To be honest. No. I can't relate to the music and I can't relate to the lifestyle and I really can't relate to the people who listen to it. However, I also wouldn't date a woman who listened to classical, punk, EDM and some of the harder more destructive metal for the same reasons.

I read this thread and I find it funny how people feel rap is so common. It's not tough to find men and women who don't listen to it. I even have a theory that a lot of rap is consumed by the midwest. I can't relate to that either.
