A large percentage of people here making threads about lack of relationship or single are guys under 30 and women over 30.

Some examples on the FIRST 2 pages:

//www.city-data.com/forum/relat...ationship.html
Guy 20 never been relationship

//www.city-data.com/forum/relat...rt-if-you.html
Guy 24 considering escort

//www.city-data.com/forum/relat...irlfriend.html
Guy 32 (yes over 30 but only barely). I predict he will probably get a GF in 2-3 years.

//www.city-data.com/forum/relat...ing-wrong.html
Guy in college never been in relationship before

//www.city-data.com/forum/relat...w-he-good.html
Guy is 24 asking how does he know if he is good looking

//www.city-data.com/forum/relat...virgin-no.html
OP asking about a guy who finished college without dating anyone.

//www.city-data.com/forum/relat...nd-zoning.html
Guy in HS asking if a girl likes her

are single are guys under 30 and women over 30.
My observation is that guys under 30 today are generally incompetent with women.
An alarming number seem outright scared of them.

They need all the help they can get but mostly they need experience.
Neither will be found here.

As for the women over 30... Not gonna touch that Q.

Some of the younger women who post with problems don't stick around long-term. The guys do, though. The older contingent, both male and female, are here mainly to help. The in-betweens, the 30-somethings, do a bit of both: advising but sometimes posting questions.

What MrRational said
Hint.. look at the sex distribution by age in the top graphic //www.city-data.com/zips/77063.html
Zip codes of course vary, but this a typical pattern, notice how there are more men than women up till a certain age, then there are more women than men.

Yes, you are quite right. I have noticed this phenomenon, but only online. The young guys in their 20s I know in real life have it going on with the girls. What they have most in common is that they don't live their lives on the Internet. They tend to use it for entertainment only, not as a lifestyle choice.

I think you will find that most of the women over 30 posting here are either in relationships or are not looking for one.

Sometimes when one of these Struggling Guysâ„¢ gets going, I try to imagine my dad or grandad (or even my brother) at the same age, whinging about whatever the issue is. And I laugh at the absurdity of it.

It's selective reading. Not judging ... I don't read every thread either. I just looked, and there are five or six threads on the front page from women in their 20s having a hard time with relationships. It's really not so lopsided.

I think it may be because women in general have real life girlfriends to talk about this stuff with whereas the younger guys don't have those kinds of friendships.

Be careful. A lot of the down on their luck guys seem to be the same people posting repeatedly under new screen names to ask the same questions again.

Troll threads aside, I think young guys tend to need some advice more, as they are the pursuers and are trying to figure things out.
