Shows that you were paying attention and that your focus is completely about her while you two are together. She may not even like flowers.
Doing things like showing up with roses makes it like you do it to all the girls you go on first date.... cookie cutter... wouldn't make her feel special.
Nope...overkill...don't even like one rose. Especially awkward if meeting somewhere and she has to carry it (or worse, the whole bunch) around all night. Announces to everyone, FIRST DATE!!!!!! And not all women even like roses or flowers in general.
I think one fresh rose or a few tulips are OK, just a sign of attention. But only if you are picking her up at home. Otherwise, what is he going to do with them?

I agree. Flowers on the first date would be a bit too much.
